Welcome to Foster’s
A vibrant new eatery in New Haven’s red-hot Ninth Square neighborhood.

Showcasing Chef David Foster’s “eccentric American” cuisine, the 140-seat restaurant is a modern space in an historic building, and features a lounge, bar, a chef’s table and a private dining room, all designed with details of bamboo and indigenous stone.
Foster’s menu includes such original creations as Monkfish Medallions with Crayfish Bisque and Spaghetti Squash; Short Ribs Osso Bucco with Ginger Zinfandel Sauce and Baby Vegetables; Pork Loin with Apple Pecan Stuffing and Mac & Cheese Wedge; and Shrimp, Clams, Scallops, Mussels and Whitefish in a Saffron-Scented Court Bouillon.
Foster’s partner in the venture is Ming Lau, owner of the neighboring Miso Japanese restaurant. In fact, Foster’s provides one of the final puzzle pieces in the Ninth Square’s blossoming restaurant district, which now stretches almost seamlessly along Orange Street, from Chapel to George.
